Local Lifestyle

Scenic, suburban, and offering a quiet life away from urban hustle and bustle, Glenview has consistently ranked among the top places in Illinois to live. With every luxury at your fingertips, who wouldn't love the convenience and quality lifestyle that comes with living here?

You never have to go far to get to our favorite coffee shop the Glenview Grind or take a leisurely stroll in the park, and above all, you can rest assured that your kids will be exposed to the best possible education in our public schools. Even better if you've got a budding golfer, swimmer or artist there are so many facilities in town to nurture your child's dreams.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

At Glenview's heart is the Glen Town Center — a vibrant shopping center fashioned out of an old US Navy airbase and sprawling with boutiques and restaurants. Some of our favorites are Apricot Lane, Von Mauer, Dicks Sporting Goods, Yard House and So’Bella.

Holiday parades infuse the streets with charm every season.

Who doesn’t love downtown Glenview, get yourself and the kids some soft-serve at the window of Dairy Bar, or treat yourselves to a dinner of eggplant parmigiana at Gusto Ristorante or yummy pulled pork nachos at Glenview House!  Craving a glazed donut on the go? Swing by Joe Donut. You can even grab a box of six to share with everyone at home. If you're out looking for amazing toffee, be sure to pull up at Cora Lee Candies on Waukegan Road.

Things to Do

Flaunt your patriotism with red, blue, and white painted bikes or scooters in the heart of Gallery Park on the Fourth of July and parade with family, friends, and other locals before getting ready to watch the Twilight Fireworks once night starts to creep in.

Want to explore life on a dairy farm with your kids? Visit Wagner Farm and interact with animals, kids can play on the playscape and visit the farmers market on Saturdays in the summer.

Looking to play on a premier Tom Fazio golf course, enjoy a round at The Glen Club and have lunch in the beautiful club house afterwards. If you're a music lover, summer brings free concerts at the Jackman Park Gazebo. Bring snacks and drinks, the kids love to dance under a star-speckled sky!
